Surgery and Anesthesia
At MAH we offer the most advanced surgical techniques available in general medicine. Our surgical services include: fully trained medical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet. For your pet's comfort and safety we have the ability to monitor ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. We utilize endotracheal intubation to protect your pet’s airway and intravenous fluid therapy to maintain blood pressure and perfuse organs. We have advanced surgical sterilization techniques and intensive post-surgical care and pain management within our ICU ward. All patients receive a full pre-surgical physical exam and pre-anesthetic blood work to allow our doctors to choose anesthetics specifically tailored to your pet. In doing so, our patient’s risk for complication while undergoing anesthesia can be minimized.

How does Radiowave Surgery work?:
A radiofrequency electrode tip becomes energized by the radiowaves but does not become overly hot. The high frequency radiowaves provide specific and delicate tissue interaction. This results in a focused cutting and coagulating effect, which disintegrates and volatilizes single cells minimizing the amount of tissue destruction. Healing is rapid and pain is minimized with less risk of infection and less bleeding.
Why is Radiowave Surgery Safe?
Skin contact is not required between the neutral plate and the patient, minimizing the possibility of burns and shocks*. There is no risk of accidentally burning other areas of tissue through reflection or penetration of a light beam, as with a laser. Radiowave surgery provides a tactile incision requiring minimal pressure, which allows the doctor to sense what he is cutting. Radiowave energy is low temperature, minimizing the occurrence of tissue necrosis and burning.
